A million purposes a million varieties, the pencil. Often found in a pocket it can be the result of a golf game with some buddies, or be in preparation for an art class. The simple design, and erasability make this an important pocket item and one that will continue to be so for years to come.
Whoever decided that keys should be metal and sharp obviously was not considering the possibility of pockets. It seems the older you get the more keys you accumulate home, car, bicycle, locker the list goes on and on and the more keys you add to your ring the more you realize you are rapidly running out of pocket space. The purse is the logical solution to this problem but for those of us who aren't female well, we're just out of luck aren't we?
Gum, a quick breath freshener or a sweet treat who doesn't love to chew on a piece from time to time. Mint, lemonade, berry it comes in almost every flavour imaginable but what can ever top the original bubblegum taste. Now what that flavour is made up of I couldn't say but it is delicious. Just beware a piece of gum left in the pocket too long could gather another common pocket item, lint.
Ah change, the artifacts of a of spent bills. Who doesn't carry a few pennies or nickels with them? Jangling around in your pocket, weighing you down, taking up space. Such a pain yet so hard to get rid and always piling up spilling out of pockets and even filling jars and ceramic piggy banks. Yet who would give up the rights to their change when buying something? It truly is a love hate relationship isn't it ?
The cellphone, a staple pocket item for millions of people how simple an item yet how complex. A single phone can shed light on numerous aspects of its owner. From contact lists to pictures, answering machine messages to ringtones a phone is a window into the mind of the owner. Take a look at your phone, what does it say about you what story does it tell, think about it the next time you reach for it in your pocket.
